The Role

We are looking for a quality engineer based in our Bury office.

The quality engineer is a key role, ensuring that the project complies with company procedures, client requirements and legal / mandatory regulations. The quality engineer will liaise with the client quality representative, and provide technical advice concerning quality management both internally and externally. The quality engineer will also take ownership of the Lifetime Record (LTR) document and manage it through to completion.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain standard operating procedures for use by the manufacturing team.
  • Develop inspection and test plans in accordance with client and company requirements.
  • Establish minimum inspection and test criteria for all products and services and communicate these across the manufacturing team. These requirements to be implemented ensuring project specific requirements are met.
  • Manage and conduct inspections and tests during manufacturing, generating appropriate records and, final sign-off / handover of the completed manufacturing.
  • Manage and witness inspection and test for associated equipment at the supplier’s premises.
  • Provide support and training for managing and conducting inspections and tests during the manufacturing.
  • Create, maintain and progress the Lifetime Record (LTR) documents throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Liaise with the manufacturing team to exchange knowledge regarding inspection and quality requirements for the manufacturing programme.

About You

You will have detailed knowledge of quality, environmental and health and safety standards and industry specifications for ductwork construction and associated ventilation equipment. You should demonstrate the ability to continually develop the company Management Systems by ensuring compliance with the latest National and European legislation, standards and specifications. Although not essential, it would be great if you have knowledge of commonly used inspection and test techniques including QA/QC knowledge and managing the handover process.
