We are extremely proud of our Bury office base at Exyte Hargreaves. For over 150 years, Greater Manchester has been the home of our business. It is tied to our traditions, going right back to the days when Henry Hargreaves and his family were building the first bicycles. Nevertheless, a building as old as ours must look towards modernisation to stay fit for purpose. That’s why we’re planning a Bury Office refurbishment in 2025.

Investing in our Head Office

The planned refurbishment at Bury is part of a wider programme of capital investment which began in the early part of last year. New machinery for our manufacturing facility, including a Press Brake, Laser Cutter and Robotic Welder, was installed in Spring 2024. Our programme of activity in 2025 will include further work (and an operational reshuffle) in our factory. We’ll also be completing some required structural maintenance and the wider refurb of our office/breakout spaces. We’re thankful to our partners at Penketh Group for their work on the concept artwork which looks fantastic!

“We’re really proud of our Bury home, but that’s not to say we couldn’t improve it! We’re really excited to have received the concept designs for our forthcoming Bury office refurbishment. The whole team is looking forward to showing our clients and stakeholders around once the work is complete.”
James Bevis – Managing Director

Next steps for our Bury Office Refurbishment

We’ve recently shared the designs with our employees to seek feedback on the concept designs. It’s really important our teams have a voice and feel that we’re providing an environment which they can feel proud of. The comments were overwhelmingly positive, but did contain a number of useful suggestions that we wanted to tweak in the final plan. Work now progresses with Penketh Group and our chosen contractors so that the refurbishment can begin later this year or early into 2025.
