Our #24In24 series is profiling the new members of team Hargreaves who’ve joined the company throughout 2024. Here is a record of our recent interview with Quality Engineer, Vanita Hirani.

Why did you decide to join Exyte Hargreaves?

I used to work here until 2021. I’ve been following Hargreaves on LinkedIn and I’d been in touch with a few different members of staff. They told me the company had changed completely and asked if I’d be interested in coming back. So I came back! Everything that I’d read was really positive.

Since joining, what’s been your experience of Exyte Hargreaves?

A lot of changes. The first thing I noticed was the shop floor (in Manufacturing) which was so neat and tidy. People smiling. The monthly Employee Forums are so much better and about the people. I came back and sat at my old desk and people just seem calmer and happier. It’s different and it’s a nice place to work. I’m glad I came back.

Can you talk a bit more about some of the things you’ve been working on?

I’ve been working on Hinkley Point C Nuclear Island and Conventional Island, but recently I’ve also been asked to work on BEP. With BEP, it’s a project which is coming to an end so I’ve been finalising the paperwork and the LTR’s (Lifetime Records).

What would you say is the best part of your job?

My colleagues. It’s a great team. But also getting the work done so that the client says ‘I’m happy with that.’ I’m still learning things, technical things that I can ask the people around me to help me understand.

Why would you recommend Exyte Hargreaves to another potential employee?

They definitely look after their employees. You get a lot of benefits and training opportunities. It’s a good place to learn.
