We’re Made in the North West

Exyte Hargreaves is Made in the North West! We are shortlisted in no less than four categories in this year’s Made in the North West Awards! Excitingly, we’re hoping to take home a clean sweep on the night of the ceremony. It takes place at Manchester Central on Thursday 23 May.
The categories include Apprentice of the Year, Manufacturing Innovation, Digital Technology and Manufacturing Future Talent categories. Here’s more information about Made in the North West and our submissions.
Insider Media’s Made in the North West Awards celebrates the very best of British Manufacturing in the North West. Furthermore, it recognises traditional manufacturers, digital engineering, apprenticeship schemes and other sectors.
There are other regional award ceremonies across the country. The winners of each regional award including (hopefully) Exyte Hargreaves progress through to the national Made in the UK competition later in 2024.
It’s a fantastic testament to our apprenticeship approach that our Engineering Young Talent programme is recognised by Made in the North West. Led by Jane Gregory, our EYT scheme award submission evidenced the progression of our former apprentices and the remarkable retention rate of the 53 young professionals who’ve completed an apprenticeship with Exyte Hargreaves.
Two of our former apprentices will go head-to-head in the Apprentice of the Year prize. Judges were extremely impressed by both of our submissions for Leon Barker-Williams and Laura Wood.
Leon is the first Quality Assurance professional to complete an apprenticeship at Exyte Hargreaves, with a standard specially written to support his journey. Also, Laura is the youngest professional to complete an apprenticeship at Exyte Hargreaves and she did so faster than anyone in the company’s history.
We wish the best of luck to both Leon and Laura!
Two other Made in the North West prizes we are competing for are Manufacturing Innovation and Digital Technology. As a progressive business, DfMA and modularisation positively impacts the overall programme of a project by an average of 30%. The introduction of digital technology also improves the efficiency of our production workflows. We’re proud of our Manufacturing facility and hope the judges recognise it at the awards show.
