HS2’s MEP Specialist Contractor of the Year
Written by John Prydderch on November 18th 2024
Exyte Hargreaves collected the HS2 MEP Specialist Contractor of the Year prize for our work at South Ruislip and other assets. We were nominated and recognised by our client, SCS (Skanska Costain Strabag).
The latest HS2 supply chain event took place in London earlier this month with James Bevis (MD) in attendance. These events happen every few months and they help to provide the supply chain with an update about what’s happening on the project. This time there was a lot of excitement because of the new Government coming in, and following the confirmation of some HS2 projects like Old Oak Common in the recent Budget.
Exyte Hargreaves is currently working on four different assets on the HS2 project: South Ruislip, West Ruislip, Mandeville and Copthall. The award was in recognition for the great work completed in the design and engineering phase. Much of the work the team has done on South Ruislip will be used across the other assets.
We also received a lot of recognition for our approach to DfMA. The modularisation ideas have been really valued and effective on HS2, proved by our landmark achievement of being the first MEP contractor to install product on an HS2 asset. The workmanship and installation has also been of a superb standard.
The HS2 project has brought together skills and experience from across the business at Exyte Hargreaves. This has included Andy Hodgson and the design/engineering team, Rob Davies and the BIM team, the Manufacturing team in both the Production Office and Shop Floor, and Glen Nolan’s project team down in London. And of course, all our support functions and contributors who’ve helped bring HS2 to life for Exyte Hargreaves.
"It is amazing to see our work being rated so highly by our client. This is a great accolade and HS2 is a huge project in the UK. Well done to our entire team!"
James Bevis
Managing Director
