Exyte Hargreaves is shortlisted as a finalist in 5 categories in the H&V News Awards 2024. Included in the finalists is our award-winning apprenticeship scheme, two of our apprentices and our project work for Hinkley Point C.

Apprentices in the Factory

Training Initiative of the Year

Our Engineering Young Talent (EYT) programme has gone from strength to strength. The Training Initiative of the Year category recognises our work with education organisations in the local community. We received our highest ever number of applications for apprenticeship schemes at Exyte Hargreaves in 2024. Over 230 applications came in from young professionals in the local area.

Beth Richards sitting

Apprentice of the Year (21 and Under)

Beth Richards is a current apprentice working within our Business Development team. She has enjoyed a stellar first year at Exyte Hargreaves. Beth is now independently pricing projects to sustain our pipeline for years to come. Her greatest achievement this year was leading the bid team for a future project. The largest value bid in the company’s history. She is the latest in a long line of Hargreaves apprentices recognised by the H&V News Awards.

Leon Barker-Williams

Apprentice of the Year (Over 21)

Another nominee in an apprenticeship category is Leon Barker-Williams. Leon blazed his own trail with Exyte Hargreaves as the company’s very first Quality Apprentice. With no formal educational standard in place, Leon worked alongside senior colleagues to build one. He is a critical part of the Quality function in our Manufacturing facility, working at the heart of our business. Leon continues to grow and develop, receiving professional qualifications in Quality, plus manufacturing and safety qualifications. He is an extremely strong candidate to become Apprentice of the Year for his age group.

HPC Digital Innovation

Project and Project Innovation Awards

Hinkley Point C project teams have two H&V News Awards nominations. We’re going for the Project of the Year and Project Innovation categories for our work on the UK’s newest nuclear facility. Crucially our approach on HPC is led by innovation and digitisation. It relies on new technologies and manufacturing techniques to deliver sophisticated HVAC systems. We are extremely proud to be a part of Team Hinkley and hope to be taking home a double-award on the evening.

About the H&V News Awards

Importantly, this year’s H&V News Awards marks the 30th anniversary of the event. Organised by the Heating & Ventilating News magazine, the awards celebrate the best of the HVAC industry. This year’s finals will be held on 28 November 2024 at the London Hilton Metropole.
