Apprentice Assessment Centre Begins

In the search for our 2024 apprentices, we have been holding a series of Apprenticeship Assessment Centres. We had an incredible response to our new apprenticeship vacancies with more than 200 applications received. Our team have a difficult task assessing some very talented young professionals before choosing our final 2024 cohort.

This week and last we’ve been joined by over 50 young candidates. They’ve applied for a variety of apprenticeship programmes including Quality, Manufacturing, Project Engineering and Quantity Surveying. Taking place at Gigg Lane, the home of Bury FC, our candidates were tested in a variety of ways by the Exyte Hargreaves team. This included a short interview, a team building activity, a peer-to-peer discussion with a partner and finally a short quiz.

We’ve been really impressed by the standard of the candidates in all sessions so far and have high hopes for the remainder of the assessment centres. The successful candidates will be invited to a formal face-to-face interview in our Bury Office, after which our new apprentices for 2024 will be chosen.

EYT and Apprentice Assessment Centres

Our Engineering Young Talent (EYT) programme has been running very successfully for a number of years. During that time over 50 apprentices have completed the scheme. They’ve gone on to further their careers within Exyte Hargreaves, including in management/leadership roles, or elsewhere within the construction industry. In an industry like ours where skills are in scarce supply, finding new talent is especially important.
