Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a selection of the most frequently asked questions in relation to our HVAC services.

Enquire about a project

How large is the Exyte Hargreaves off site facility?

Our manufacturing facility is based in Bury, Greater Manchester. Our factory is roughly 8,000 square metres in size.

What is DfMA?

DfMA stands for Design for Manufacture & Assembly. It is also known sometimes as OSM (Off Site Manufacture), MMC (Modern Methods of Construction), or OSA (Off Site Assembly)

When should DfMA be considered?

As early as possible. Our Engineering teams can design with DfMA in mind using digital manufacture and BIM modelling techniques. By considering DfMA in the concept design phase there is a greater chance of reducing waste, highlighting cost savings and reducing future assembly costs.

What are the benefits of DfMA?

Building off site means that there is no direct impact on the project programme. Our HVAC modules can be built in the Exyte Hargreaves manufacturing facility in Bury. This means that costs are controlled, modules are built more efficiently and quality & safety levels are high.

Is DfMA more sustainable?

Yes! Chiefly, by reducing the time we spend on site there is a reduction in emissions from transport. Once the HVAC modules are constructed they can be moved to site at the request of our client. Installation is then much simpler and requires a smaller team that if construction occurred on site.
